The situation

A Great Rail Journeys tour travelling by train from London to Wengen was due to be escorted by one of their excellent Tour Managers. At the last minute, an emergency meant the manager could not travel. Without a replacement, the group risked being left without professional guidance for the week-long tour, a huge blow for the guests and a reputational disaster for the business.

The solution

Our founder, James, immediately stepped in. He flew to London to meet the group at St
Pancras, then escorted them by rail all the way to Wengen for their seven-day holiday.
Throughout the week he provided the full range of tour management services, including:
