About James

As an English citizen and travel industry professional of over 20 years, James’ lifetime ambition of living and working in Switzerland became reality 5 years ago. Being based here has allowed him to further develop his extensive knowledge of Destination Switzerland and enhance the range of products and skills in our portfolio. James spends all of his spare time up in the mountains, hiking the endless trails of the Berner Oberland once the snow has all melted, and then skiing the once winter returns. He also immerses himself in some of the local traditions in Wengen and is often found helping the local farmers on the high-alpine pastures. He is also a very proud member of the Trycher Club.

Previous Experience

James has over 20 years’ experience in Tour Operating and has operated in Switzerland for 11 of those. His studies in France led to a strong background in European rail, followed by a successful career in the UK with a major rail holiday operator with full responsibility for the procurement of all rail services. In turn, this led to a career at STC Switzerland Travel Centre looking after B2B business in the UK, both on the sales side but also product development on behalf of all B2B clients. A move to Switzerland in October 2016 then led to him contracting all hotels, products and services within the Berner Oberland. He began this new venture in early 2021.
